Toronto Rock 12, Philadelphia Wings 11, Scotiabank Arena, Toronto, ON

Gord and I are season ticket holders for the Toronto Rock lacrosse team games ... the Rock is a professional lacrosse franchise in the National Lacrosse League (NLL).  This is our sixth year going to the games and our fifth year having seasons tickets.

It was Tom Schreiber bobblehead night.

Tonight the Rock were hosting the Philadelphia Wings.  The Rock were leading in the eastern division and a win tonight would secure a spot for the Rock in the playoffs.

We got there early enough to watch the teams practice.

Gord's birthday is tomorrow and I had purchased the Rock birthday package for him.  It comes with ten tickets and I invited nine of his friends (some he's known for almost sixty years!).

Here we are ...
Rosemary, Christine, Kevin, Craig and Rachel
Mary, Malcolm, me, Gord and Trish

Scotty Newlands sang the American national anthem.

The Newtonbrook Secondary School Vocal Ensemble sang the Canadian national anthem.

And the game began ...

Here's the view from our seats ...

Two Rock Cheerleaders brought Gord a gift ... a Rock flag.

Iggy, the Toronto Rock mascot, spent some time in our section.

At the end of the first quarter, the Rock were winning 3 - 1.

Here are me and Trish ...

The red-wigged guys were there tonight.

DJ Sweet Lou provided the tunes during the game.

The Rock Cheerleaders entertained ...

At the end of the second quarter, the Rock were winning 7 - 4.

Gord's birthday was included on the big screen.

The second half began ...

The Rock Cheerleaders entertained again.

At the end of the third quarter, the Rock were winning 11 - 7.

Big crowd tonight ... there were over 11,000 people in attendance.

The prize for the 50/50 draw was over $9,000.

Alas, we didn't win it.

The Wings started catching up and it was tense for a while ... but the Rock won 12 - 11.  Yay!

The Rock players shook hands with the Wings players.

The Rock players thanked their fans.
