Island Foods, Toronto, ON (King Street W)

I had supper this evening at Island Foods (Dufferin Street/King Street W), which is in my 'hood.   I've been a fan of theirs since I moved to Toronto over 30 years ago and have been many many times.

I usually go about 11:45am to get a jump on the lunch crowd (and there's still always a line-up).  I went today about 1:30pm figuring it would be too busy and there was still a line-up (it's a popular spot).

I got what I always get ... a boneless chicken roti.  I don't think I've ever ordered anything else from them as I love their rotis!  And it was delicious as usual.

I got in line at 11:44am but it still wasn't early enough to beat the lunchtime rush (even on a Wednesday!).

A half hour later, I was sitting at a table with my boneless chicken roti (with extra "gravy").

As usual, my roti was delicious!

I had lunch today at Island Foods (Dufferin Street/King Street W).  Though I love their rotis and have been going there since 1998, I have been eating more healthy since the summer to lose weight and haven't had a roti since April.   I got there early enough to beat the lunchtime rush.

I had a long busy week and was craving a chicken roti!  It was delicious, as usual.

I had lunch today at Island Foods (Dufferin Street/King Street W).  I've been going there since 1998 and it's my favourite place to get a chicken roti.

It's a popular spot at lunchtime.  I got there at 11:45am and there was a bit of line-up.  By noon, the line-up was outside the door.  But the wait is worth it!

Sister Sarah and I had lunch today at Island Foods (Dufferin Street/King Street W), which is in my 'hood. She hasn't been able to find a decent roti shop in Halifax so this was on her list of places she wanted to go.  I've been going there since 1998, when I worked a couple blocks from it (my colleagues and I used to go on a weekly basis).

We got there about 11:45am, before the lunchtime rush.

We both ordered a boneless chicken roti ... and they were delicious!

The lunch rush started just after noon.

There was a line-up out the door when we left.

I had an appointment with my naturopath, Tara, after work today ... she did acupuncture (25 needles) and took some blood samples for a food tolerance test.

I stopped in for supper afterwards at Island Foods (Dufferin Street/King Street W), which is in my 'hood.  I hadn't been since February.

I've been going there since 1998, when I worked a couple blocks from it.  My colleagues and I used to go on a weekly basis.

I ordered my usual, a boneless chicken roti ... and it was delicious!
