Toronto Marlies 3, Lehigh Valley Phantoms 2

Tonight the Toronto alumni chapter of the university I went to, St. Francis Xavier University (St. F.X.), hosted an event and Gord and I went ... drinks and appies at the Brazen Head in Liberty Village followed by a Toronto Marlies game at the Ricoh Coliseum.

The Marlies were playing the Lehigh Valley Phantoms.

The Marlies are the farm team for the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The national anthems were sung.

And the game began ...

Toronto Marlies 5, Grand Rapids 1

LeeAnn at Single Horizons gave us a couple tickets for the Toronto Marlies hockey game today.

It was the Marlies' last game of the season and they beat Grand Rapids (Detroit's farm team) . Yay! Alas, they didn't make the playoffs.

The seats were five rows from the ice. They were great when the action was in our end but it was hard to see in far corner.

Toronto Marlies 1, Manitoba Moose 3

Gord got free tickets from where he works for this afternoon's Marlies' game (they are the farm team for the Toronto Maple Leafs).

They were playing the Manitoba Moose (the farm team for the Vancouver Canucks).

The seats were good. Alas, we lost 3 to 1. They were giving away bobbleheads of Marc Moro.

We don't live far from Ricoh Coliseum but drove anyway. It's a good thing we did because when we came out after the game, there was a snow storm happening.

Toronto Marlies 2, Syracuse Crunch 3

Gord and I went to a Toronto Marlies game tonight. They are the Maple Leafs' farm team and this is their first year in Toronto (they spend the last 13 years in St. John's, NF).

It was a great game but alas Toronto lost. The score was tied at the end of the third period so there was a five minute sudden death and then a shoot out.

It's good cheap hockey and the arena was about 1/4 full. Our tix were only $10 each and, because there were so many empty seats, we sat in better ones after the first period.
