Lou Dawg's Southern Barbecue, Toronto, ON

Gord and I had lunch at Lou Dawg's today.

We'd stopped in there last week for a drink and wanted to go back to try the food.

They claim that everything is fresh, nothing is frozen.

We shared the smoked beef brisket sandwich ...

And the pulled pork sandwich and fries ...

They were both moist and tasty. And the bun was really soft.

When I'm in the mood for a pulled sandwich, I'll be back.

Lou Dawg's Southern Barbecue, Toronto, ON

After Gord and I saw The A-Team with Shawna, we started walking home.

We passed by Lou Dawg's on King Street W. We've been wanting to check it out so we stopped in for a drink.

There was a jazzy bluesy singer named Lisa Michelle entertaining.

She was good and I could feel a passion in her singing (it appears that she's there every Wednesday night).

We sat at the bar and Steve took excellent care of us.

The thing that hit me when I walked in was the delicious smell! They don't have a large menu but it seems to be an excellent place to go for pulled pork sandwiches, ribs, wings, etc. There are even things for non meat eaters!

Steve told us that everything is fresh and prepared in the back in smokers ... apparently the only thing that is frozen are peas which they don't even use.

The drinks are cheap ($5 for a rum/Coke or gin/Sprite) and refreshing. If you are so inclined, you can get a litre of beer for just $9 and take the ginormous mug home!

We'll definitely be back for supper and then stay for the tunes afterward sometime soon.
