TIFF, Toronto, ON

I volunteered for TIFF ... it's my fourth year. I spent Thursday, Saturday, Sunday and this afternoon and evening at the TIFF Lightbox doing seven hour shifts.

Wednesday, September 2
I picked up my volunteer teeshirt and lanyard.

One of the benefits of being a returning TIFF volunteer is you get invited to a complimentary screening of a movie that will be in the festival ... and you don't know what it is until it starts! That was this evening and it was the world premiere of All She Wants, which was cute. And there was lots of complimentary popcorn!

Thursday, September 10
The TIFF sign, on Festival Street, which is a closed-off portion of King Street W near the TIFF Lightbox, is a popular photo opp.

There's another photo opp that many took advantage of just inside the TIFF Lightbox on the atrium level.

On the elevators ...

I spent my shift as a scanner in Theatre 7, which is small and and not open to the public.

After my shift, I walked through Festival Street.

Saturday, September 12
Festival Street was busy.

I spent my shift taking pictures for people of themselves in front of the TIFF wall.

Nice surprise when my pal,
Shumaila, stopped by
After my shift, I said good-bye to the wall

Festival Street was busy after my shift. People were dancing on the street to the loud tunes.

Sunday, September 13
The last day for Festival Street.

Fun photo opp in the Lightbox.

Donna, my Tuesday evening line dancing instructor, was volunteering on the atrium level. I hadn't seen her since her classes took a break in May for the summer and it was nice to catch. I spent my shift scanning tickets at Theatre 6, which is small and and not open to the public.

My pal, Liz, was also volunteering and we got caught up during a break.

Monday, September 14

Before I started my shift, I had to get my picture taken in front of the TIFF wall after taking so many of others a couple days earlier.

My last shift! I spent it scanning tickets at Theatre 2. And then I was done my TIFF experience for another year.

Sounds like a great project on which to volunteer.
