Wood Islands Lighthouse, Wood Islands, PEI

Gord and I checked out the historic Wood Islands Lighthouse in Wood Islands. It was built in 1876 and is a well-preserved three storey tower with an adjoining 1+1⁄2-storey keeper’s residence. Lots of nice views! So different from the Point Prim Lighthouse we visited earlier today! It was moved back 70 metres in 2009 to more solid ground. We could see the ferry coming across from Nova Scotia (my homeland).
