Lou Dawg's Southern Barbecue, Toronto, ON

After Gord and I saw The A-Team with Shawna, we started walking home.

We passed by Lou Dawg's on King Street W. We've been wanting to check it out so we stopped in for a drink.

There was a jazzy bluesy singer named Lisa Michelle entertaining.

She was good and I could feel a passion in her singing (it appears that she's there every Wednesday night).

We sat at the bar and Steve took excellent care of us.

The thing that hit me when I walked in was the delicious smell! They don't have a large menu but it seems to be an excellent place to go for pulled pork sandwiches, ribs, wings, etc. There are even things for non meat eaters!

Steve told us that everything is fresh and prepared in the back in smokers ... apparently the only thing that is frozen are peas which they don't even use.

The drinks are cheap ($5 for a rum/Coke or gin/Sprite) and refreshing. If you are so inclined, you can get a litre of beer for just $9 and take the ginormous mug home!

We'll definitely be back for supper and then stay for the tunes afterward sometime soon.

Darn I can't get DH out during the week. Looks like you are making the most out of summer 2010.

That place looks like a blast. The food sounds good and I see they have wings. And it says ask about wing specials . . .

The wing special is a pound of wings on Wednesdays for $5. They are unusual apparently because they don't cut the wing up into pieces.

Hello Teena! It's been awhile!!! I think the movie A-Team was an adrenaline rush. I like it! That looks like a nice place to chill and hangout!

What is "pulled" pork?

Sorry to counter but I found LOU DAWGS TO BE CRAP! They have to intice patrons with cheap booze because their customer experience and food is lacking. The place doesn't know what it wants to be - ATM, restaurant, sports bar, music venue, flavour of the day - clearly spells inexperience on the part of the owners. Besides, managers are a JOKE - they act as though they're hanging out in their parent's basement!!

We went back about a month later for a bite to eat and the experience was okay. The food was not bad.
