Toronto Rock 11, Georgia Swarm 12, Scotiabank Arena, Toronto, ON

Gord and I are season ticket holders for the Toronto Rock lacrosse team games ... the Rock is a professional lacrosse franchise in the National Lacrosse League (NLL).  This is our sixth year going to the games and our fifth year having seasons tickets.

They were playing the Georgia Swarm tonight in their home opener of the 2018-19 season (they won their first away game).

We got there early enough to watch the Rock warm up.

Scotty Newlands sang the national anthems.

Six Nations of the Grand River Chief Ava Hill acknowledged the First Peoples and Traditional Territory.

And the game began ...

Here is the view from our seats ...

When the Rock scored the first goal, Tim and Gillian, season's ticket holders who sit in front of us, were happy.

DJ Sweet Lou provided the tunes during the game.

The red-wigged guys were there.

At the end of the first quarter, the Rock were losing 3-2.

Iggy, the Rock mascot, entertained the crowd.

Our pal, Andrew's dad, Jim sat next to us.  We  met Andrew at a play last year in our 'hood (he's an actor) and he's now part of the Rock organization.  It was a nice surprise to see him!

The goalies' equipment was measured.

The Rock Cheerleaders entertained.

At the end of the second quarter, the Rock were losing 7 - 5.

Members of the Six Nations of the Grand River entertained during the intermission.

The second half began ...

Here are the upcoming theme nights this year ...

The Rock Cheerleaders entertained again ...

At the end of the third quarter, the Rock were losing 8 - 7.

Our friend, Trish, joined us for the game.

The prize for the 50/50 draw was almost $8,400.

Alas, we didn't win.

The attendance for tonight's game over 10,000!

Iggy encouraged the crowd ...

Alas, the Rock lost 12 - 11.

The Rock players congratulated each other and then shook hands with the Swarm players.

The Rock players thanked the fans for coming to the game.

Tim and Gillian showed their support for the Rock.

Too bad about the loss but we're happy that the Rock games have started again.
