Toronto Rock 13, Buffalo Bandits 15

Gord and I went to the Toronto Rock game this evening ... it was the first game of the playoffs (first home game tickets are included in season packages).  The Rock is a professional lacrosse franchise in the National Lacrosse League (NLL).

The Rock were playing the Buffalo Bandits.  Whoever won tonight's game would go on to the next round ... whoever lost was done 'til next year.

We watched the teams warm up.

Buffalo

The Rock Cheerleaders entertained before the game started.

Scotty Newlands sang the American national anthem.

Dylana Williams sang the Canadian national anthem.

The Rock huddled to get psyched.

And the game began ...

Here's the view from our seats (we have season tickets).

Iggy worked the crowd and came up into our section.

Yes, he was pointing at me!

At the end of the first quarter, Buffalo was winning 4 - 2.  Oh no!

The Rock Cheerleaders entertained again in the second quarter.

At the end of the second quarter, Buffalo was winning 8 - 7 ... so close.

The Rock huddled at the beginning of the third quarter to get psyched.

During the third quarter, the shoulder pads of the goalies were measured (this happens every game).

During this, the Rock Cheerleaders entertained again.

 Tonight's attendance was almost 8,000.

These fans are always there ... they sit across the arena from us.

At the end of their third quarter, the game was tied 10 - 10 ... whoohoo!

The 50/50 draw was about $4,400.

Alas, we didn't win.

Buffalo beat the Rock 15 - 13, to advance to the next round.  Oh well!

Needless to say, the Buffalo players were happy
The Rock ... not so much
The players shook hands afterwards

The Rock thanked the fans for their support.

One of the Rock players was one of the three stars of the game.

It was a fun season and it's too bad they didn't advance further in the playoffs.  Gord and I have bought our seasons tickets for next year already (to lock in at 2014 prices).  Better luck next year!
