Sandman Hotel & Suites Calgary South, Calgary, AB

I had an enrolment seminar to conduct this morning in Calgary.  I flew in yesterday afternoon and am heading home this afternoon.  I stayed at the Sandman Hotel & Suites Calgary South as it was close to the client's site.

Here is my room ...

A king bed just for me ... it was comfy!

The bathroom ...

WIFI (it was fast) and parking were free.  There was no mini fridge or microwave oven in the room.  The hotel is about 15 minutes from the downtown core.  Though I didn't use them, there was a pool, whirlpool and fitness facilities.  Denny’s 24 Hour Restaurant, Moxie’s Grill & Bar and Shark Club Bar & Grill are next door.  There is lots and lots of shopping within walking distance.

I found my room was warm and though I'd turned the thermostat down to 18.5C, the room never cooled off.  In the middle of the night, I discovered that the dials on the heater/air conditioner actually control and heat/air.  Then why is there a thermostat on the wall?

I found it odd that they started vacuuming the hallway at 8am and Housekeeping knocked on my door at 8:27am and 8:51am.  I was up but I wouldn't have been too happy if I'd been sleeping and they'd woken me up.  There was no "Do Not Disturb" sign I could hang on the outside doorknob ... they obviously need them.

A new Sandman Hotel has just opened up by Burloak Drive between Burlington & Oakville. It took a while to build, but I" glad to see it finally in business. I was wondering what it would potentially look like inside. Looks like a comfy stay, but too bad there are a few blips. I'm sure they will fix them with feedback such as yours.
