Toronto Rock 9, Edmonton Rush 11

Gord and I are season ticket holders for the Toronto Rock lacrosse team games ... the Rock is a professional lacrosse franchise in the National Lacrosse League (NLL).  This is our third year going to the games and our second year having seasons tickets.

Going into tonight's game, they were in first place (10 - 2) and they were playing the Edmonton Rush.

It was Josh Sanderson bobblehead night ... they were given to the first 5,000 attendees.

We watched the Rock warm up.

As usual, Scotty Newlands sang the national anthem.

The Rock huddled before the game to get psyched.

Right to Play was the recipient of tonight's 50/50 draw and they had a ceremonial face-off.

And then the game began ...

Gillian and Tim, who sit in front of us, celebrate the Rock's first goal.

At the end of the first quarter, the score was tied 2 - 2.

Stephan Leblanc needed some stretching out before the second quarter began.

The red wig guys across from us are always there ... there was one missing tonight, though.

The Rock cheerleaders entertained.

The goalie's pads were measured (as usual).

At the end of the second quarter, the Rock were winning 4 - 3.  Whoohoo!

The Rock huddled again at the beginning of the third quarter to get psyched.

The Rock cheerleaders entertained again.

At the end of the third quarter, the score was tied 7 -7 .

The prize for the 50/50 draw was just over $6,000.  Sweet!

Alas, Gord and I weren't even close :(

Gillian and Tim were enthused when the Rock took the lead.

The attendance to tonight's game was just over 10,000.

Alas, the Rock ended up losing.

The players congratulated each other
The Rock players thanked their fans for coming to the game

Despite the loss, two of the Rock players were the three stars of the game.

Noticeably absent from tonight's game was Iggy.  There was a fake lacklustre Iggy just before the players came out and that was it.  Iggy usually spends the game working the crowd.  Maybe not having Iggy at the game is why we lost ...
