Since I have one-on-ones at 9am this morning in Orillia, I came up late yesterday afternoon rather than heading up early this morning. It's over an hour and a half drive and I didn't want to take any chances with the weather and traffic and be late.
I stayed at the
Best Western Couchiching Inn.

My room was big with a king-sized bed and a couch, etc. There was also a mini-fridge and microwave (alas, I forgot to bring popcorn). Lots of room for just me!

Don't steal the towels!

I had supper last night at the
Portage Italian Bistro, which is in the hotel. It was good.
Next door to my room was a pop machine, chip/bar machine, ice, etc. Thankfully no one wanted ice ... ka-chunk ka-chunk ka-chunk. I'd put $$ in a machine to get a Twix but the $$ kept coming back until I finally gave up. I guess it was a sign that I didn't need it.

My room was on the main floor and I was able to park my car right outside my room along the wall ... yes, that's my car you see out the door. So I didn't have far to go to take my stuff in and out.
A hot continental breakfast (scrambled eggs, toast, cereal, fruit, yogurt, juice, etc.) is included, as are parking and WIFI. The rate was $126/night. I tried to get connected to the Internet but couldn't. I finally gave up and used my Internet stick.
I'd stay here again.

Teena - first off, great look for the blog! Secondly, sometimes the chain hotels do a pretty good job for what you need them to do: give you a moment to rest for the night. The room looks nice!
