The Famous Canadian Beer Run, Toronto, ON

Today I was at the third annual The Famous Canadian Beer Run ... it's the first time I've done it.

This ain’t no beer mile! At Toronto’s beer-iest 5-kilometre fun run, the real party begins when you cross the finish line into the Craft Beer & Food Festival. Kick back with friends as you sample the finest Canadian craft brews, nosh on delicious food truck eats and enjoy live music all afternoon long. Custom beer stein, soft-cotton race shirt, two beers and an awesome race kit are all included!

I'd signed up for the 11am start.  I got there just after 10am to pick up my bib and teeshirt.

About 10:40am, we were corralled to get started.

And then we were off!  There were lots of runners and walkers ... I did a brisk walk and it took me about an hour.

We started off on the west island of Ontario Place.  We went through Ontario Place to Trillium Park to Lakeshore Boulevard and then back to Ontario Place.

Yay!

At the finish, there was water, bananas, apples and bagels waiting for us, which was much appreciated considering how hot and sunny it was.  You could also get a massage if you wanted.

My friend, Trish, also was there.  She ran the 5km and started at 11:30am.  She finished just after me.

With the first part done (the 5km run/walk), next came the beer fest.  Trish doesn't drink so gave me her beer tickets (four came with our registration).

Robbie and Matthew provided the entertainment.  They played cover tunes and were really good.

It was a fun run/beer festival and I look forward to doing it again next year!
