Bridie Molloy's, St. John's, NL

Gord and I had supper tonight at Bridie Molloy's.  We were tired from our eventful day so didn't feel like going far.

It's a cute spot with different areas.

Con O'Brien of the Irish Descendants was playing traditional songs when we got there.

Our server was Damyele and she took excellent care of us.  She was fun and friendly.

Since it's our last meal in Newfoundland, Gord ordered something traditional ... cod tongues.  Since he's never had them before, Damyele had them cooked a little extra crispy.

They looked and smelled nasty.  Gord wasn't too fussy for them either but good for him for trying them.

Because he has discovered that he loves Cod au Gratin, he ordered it with rice.

He still loves it!

I felt like chicken and something that wasn't deep fried so ordered the chicken dinner.  It was okay, a bit overdone.

The place was getting busy when we left and there was another singer entertaining the crowd.

I had cod tongue as a kid, not a fan, but love mustard pickles, and my Mom use to make the best.

I used to have homemade mustard pickles a lot when I lived in Antigonish ... these were different. They didn't look as good.
