Toronto Wolfpack 46, Leigh Centurions 12, Lamport Stadium, Toronto, ON

The Toronto Wolfpack RLFC is a Canadian professional rugby league club, based in here Toronto, which competes in the British Rugby Football League system.  In 2018, the club competed in the Championship, having begun to play in 2017 in League 1 and won a promotion in its inaugural season.  Gord and I have been going to the most of the games since 2017 and have been season ticket holders for the last two years.

The club is noted as being the first North American team to play in the Rugby Football League system, the first fully professional rugby league team in Canada and the world's first transatlantic rugby league team.  Their home stadium is Lamport Stadium (aka "The Den"), which is just a couple blocks from where Gord and I live.

Today the was the last game of the season and the Wolfpack were playing the Leigh Centurions.  Going into today's game, the Wolfpack was in first place with just one loss and Leigh was in fourth place with eighteen wins.  Gord's friend, Roger, joined us.

During the week, the Wolfpack sent out an email inviting season ticket holders to renew for the 2020.  As an added incentive, the first 100 to renew would receive a free jersey.  Gord and I renewed right away and here we are in our free jerseys.  Thanks, Wolfpack!

Can you tell that Zach is a fan?

Gordo was being of a shit disturber.

Everyone loves Jefferson, the Wolfpack mascot!

At the end of the first half, the Wolfpack were winning 24 - 6.

During the intermission, Jefferson and the Wolfpack Dance Squad entertained.  There seemed to be some tension between Jefferson and Gordo.

The Junior Dance Squad entertained.

There was something going on just below us.  It turns out Chad proposed to Cathryne.  She said yes!

They recreated it near the beer gardens for photo opps and so all could see.  She said yes again!

And the second half began ...

There were 8,000 in attendance
Gordo jammed with the guitarist

The Wolfpack won 46 - 12.  Yay!

The Centurions thanked their fans for coming.

We hung around after the game, as did the players.

We headed to the beer garden as did some of the players.

The playoffs start in two weeks and we'll be there.  Because of how well the Wolfpack did, their games will be at home.  There will be at least two playoff games.  If the Wolfpack win the last one, they will move up to the Super League.  Go, Wolfpack, go!
