Toronto Wolfpack 26, Barrow Raiders 2, Lamport Stadium, Toronto, ON

The Toronto Wolfpack is a Canadian professional rugby league club, based in here in Toronto, which began play in the 2017 League 1 season.  They are notable as being the first Canadian team to play in the Rugby Football League system, the first fully professional rugby league team in Canada and the world's first trans-Atlantic rugby league team.  Their home stadium is Lamport Stadium (aka "The Den"), which is just a couple blocks from where we live.

This afternoon they were playing the Barrow Raiders in the super 8s.  A win or a tie for the Wolfpack and they would win Kingstone league and earn promotion to second division.  The Raiders were just two points behind the WolfPack.

Seating is general admission (so you can sit where you want) and Gord and I sat where we usually sit ... in the middle on the east side.

The Wolfpack's cheerleaders are the She-Wolves and they entertained before the game started.

God Save the Queen and O Canada were sung before the game.

And the game began ...

The attendance at today's game was almost 8,000.

The craft beer gardens are a popular place to be.

Here's the Wolfpack's cheering section ... they are loud and supportive!

I hung out at the north end of the stadium for awhile.

There's Gord engrossed in the game!

The Junior She-Wolves entertained before the second half.

The She-wolves came back too.

Who wants a hot dog?!

The second half began ...

The game was over and the Wolfpack won ... the game and the championship and have been promoted to the second division!

There were lots of hugs, handshakes, pictures and celebrating afterwards.

The spray of bubbly

The Wolfpack have one more game next Saturday and Gord I will be there.  It should be a fun game with very little pressure for the team.
