Book ~ "Fish!: A remarkable way to boost morale and improve results" - Stephen C. Lundin, Harry Paul and John Christensen (2000)

From ~ All is not well at Seattle’s First Guarantee Financial. Production is plummeting and morale is at an all-time low. When the management tells Mary Jane Ramirez to sort her new department out, she knows that she has a grim task ahead of her. But before long, she’s working miracles with the help of head fishmonger, Lonnie ... and delivering results that nobody could have expected. Fish! is a hilarious book of management parables that not only takes on proverbial management wisdom, but comes out on top.

I read this book a couple years ago and it was fun to reread it. I'd seen the video in my in Marketing Management course a couple months ago. They looked like they were having so much fun that I wanted to be reminded about the message.

The principles are easy:
  1. Choose your attitude
  2. Play
  3. Be present
  4. Make their day

Our municipality is hooked on this book--they push it at us city employees all the time.

I work in a library--I'm NOT throwing books around like these guys throw fish! :-)

Having said that, those four principles are solid.
