The club is noted as being the first North American team to play in the Rugby Football League system, the first fully professional rugby league team in Canada and the world's first transatlantic rugby league team. Their home stadium is Lamport Stadium (aka "The Den"), which is just a couple blocks from where Gord and I live.
Today the Wolfpack (16 wins/1 loss) were playing the Dewsbury Rams (4 wins/12 losses). It's been about month since there was a home game. The day was grey and threatened rain.
Here are Gord and I.
Everyone loves Jefferson, the Wolfpack mascot!
Jefferson paid tribute to the Toronto Raptors, the recent NBA Champions!

To celebrate Father's Day (which is tomorrow), the first 500 fans were given a Wolfpack ~ Carpenters & Allied Workers apron. Thanks!
The Wolfpack Dance Squad entertained.
Kids were asked to come onto the field to hold down the large team flags.
Here come the Wolfpack players!
God Save the Queen and O Canada were sung before the game.
And the game began ...
Alas, no streetcars were hit today ... but the crowd cheered when a car was!
At the end of the first half, the Wolfpack were winning 40 - 4.
The Junior Wolfpack Dance Squad entertained during the break.
Gordo came out with the score on one side of this sandwich board and his job wanted ad on the other. There was obviously some tension between him and Jefferson.
Because tomorrow is Father's Day, there was a race with four dads.
The Wolfpack Dance Squad entertained again.
Despite the chilly day, today's attendance was 6,735
Jefferson joined Section 35, the Wolfpack's cheering section
Gordo's looking for odd jobs
He danced with the Dance Squad
The Wolfpack won 70 - 8. Congrats to Liam Kay for his 150th try of his career!

As usual, the beer gardens is a popular place during and after the game.
Looking forward to next week's game!
