Moselland Riesling wine - cat bottles

Almost every year in November, the LCBO sells bottles of Moselland Riesling wine in the shape of cats.  Here are this year's ... mango yellow and Barbados Cherry Red.

I've been collecting them for 20 years and now have 42. 

None of the colours are the same and the bottles are unopened (yes, unopened!).

Almost every year in November the LCBO sells bottles of Moselland Riesling wine in the shape of cats ... and here are this year's.  I don't think I have these colours.

Almost every year in November the LCBO sells bottles of Moselland Riesling wine in the shape of cats. 

It's been a couple years since I've seen them at the LCBO but they do have them this year so I popped in today to pick up a couple.

I've been collecting them for almost 20 years and now have 38.  They are all different colours/vintages and are unopened.

Moselland Riesling wine - cat bottles

In the Calgary airport, there is a specialty liquor store as soon as you deplaned (it's inside Security).  When I go to Calgary, I always take a look in their windows because they always have the Moselland cat wine bottles that I collect and sometimes different ones than I see here in Toronto.

I flew to Calgary on Monday and I wasn't disappointed ... they had red, lime green and pink ones.  Needless to say, I bought them!  I also bought some bubble wrap so they would travel safely in my suitcase going home.

I've been collecting them for about 15 years and now have 36.  They are all different colours/vintages and are unopened.

Moselland Riesling wine cat bottles ... that might have been

As you know, I collect Moselland Riesling wine cat bottles ... last week I picked up the latest three (I now have 33 unopened bottles).

Recently I received an email from Alex of DIONYSUS Wines & Spirits Ltd., the agents in Ontario for Moselland ... he'd come across my postings about the cat bottles.  He had attached the history of the colours and it seems that I'm missing just three since 1999.

He said he had some cat bottles that were proposed samples for the LCBO that were never produced for sale.  They normally recycle these bottles but he offered to send them to me ... of course, I said "yes".

This year they are blue, marsala and green with a 2014 vintage and I picked them up this afternoon.

I've been collecting them for about 15 years and now have 33.

They are all different colours/vintages and unopened.

When I was in the Calgary airport yesterday, I walked by a liquor store ...

... and something in the window caught my eye.  They had a lot of the Moselland Riesling wine cat bottles that Sister Sarah and I collect!

I flew home today and stopped in at the liquor store before I boarded to see if they had any that I didn't.

And they did ... a pink one with a 2012 vintage!  So I bought a couple (one for me and one for Sister Sarah).

This year they are soft red and mustard yellow (2012 vintage) ...

'Tis the season when the LCBO sells two bottles of Moselland Riesling wine in the shape of cats for Christmas. Gord saw them today, bought them and surprised me with them (thanks, Gord!).

This year they are metallic goldish and turquoise (2011 vintage) ...

They didn't sell any last year.

I've been collecting them for over ten years and now have 26 (I'm missing two of the first ones ... clear pink and turquoise).

They are all unopened.

This year they are clear pink and purple ...


I've been collecting them for over ten years and now have 24 (I'm missing two of the first ones ... pink and turquoise).


They are all unopened.

The liquor store sells two wine bottles in the shape of cats every year just before Christmas.

This year they are blue and yellow and I got mine this week.


They issued blue and yellow ones in 2000 but they are a bit different.

I've been collecting them for about ten years and now have 22 (I'm missing two of the first ones ... pink and turquoise).


They are all unopened.

Moselland Riesling wine - cat bottles

Two Moselland Riesling wine cat bottles just came out ... turquoise and coral ... and I picked 'em up today.

I have 18 now ... all still sealed. As far as I know, I'm just missing two ... a clear turquoise one and a clear pink one issued about five years ago.

Last year I finally bought a bottle to drink. It was a reisling and so-so.
