FIFA World Cup Fan Fest, Toronto, ON

Toronto hosted five FIFA World Cup 2026 matches at Toronto Stadium (there's still a round of 32 knockout match to come):
  • Canada played the first-ever men's FIFA World Cup match on Canadian soil against Bosnia and Herzegovina
  • Ghana vs. Panama
  • Germany vs. Côte d'Ivoire
  • Panama vs. Croatia
  • Senegal vs. Iraq

Gord and I didn't get tickets for these matches but we did want to go to a FIFA Fan Festival, which is at Fort York and the Bentway (about a 20 minute walk from us). The Fan Fest is open daily, providing a place to watch live match broadcasts on giant screens. The festival also features live music and cultural performances, food and beverage vendors, interactive games and activities, sponsor exhibits, family-friendly programming, etc.

Tickets for the Fan Fests are hard to get but Dawn, our friend and neighbour, got 4 for today's and gave us 2 (thanks, Dawn!). It was a fun time. There were 2 games being broadcast on big screens at different ends of the festival. We watched the France ~ Norway game sitting at a picnic table in the shade (there were lots of France fans). The Fan Fest is well organized. It's lively and there's lots of space for everyone.
