Toronto Rock 14, Buffalo Bandits 12

Gord and I are season ticket holders for the Toronto Rock lacrosse team games ... the Rock is a professional lacrosse franchise in the National Lacrosse League (NLL).  This is our fourth year going to the games and our third year having seasons tickets.

They were playing the Buffalo Bandits tonight.

Iggy, the Rock mascot, worked the crowd before the game.

Hi, Iggy!

Going into tonight's game, the Rock was 0 - 6 and had the worst record in the league.

The Toronto Rock Cheerleaders welcomed the Rock players onto the field.

As usual, Scotty Newlands sang the national anthems.

The Rock players huddled before the game to get psyched.

And the game began ...

There were a bunch of Bandit fans sitting right in front of us.  The Bandits scored the first two goals and, needless to say, their fans were happy.

Iggy worked the crowd the keep the Rock fans' spirits up.

After the end of the first quarter, Buffalo was winning 2 - 0.

When the Rock scored their first goal in the second quarter, Gillian, a season's ticket holder who sits in front of us, was happy.

The goalies had their equipment measured.

The Toronto Rock Cheerleaders entertained.

At the end of the second quarter, Buffalo was winning 6 - 5 ... at least the Rock had scored and was catching up.

The Buffalo and Toronto cheerleaders danced together during the intermission.

The Rock huddled at the beginning of the third quarter to get psyched.

The red-wigged guys who always sit across from us were there.

Here are Gord and I in our Rock gear.

At the end of the third quarter, the score was tied 9 - 9.

Tonight's attendance was almost 8,000.

The 50/50 draw was $5,575.

Alas, we weren't even close.

The Rock won ... 14 - 12!  Whoohoo!  It's the first win of the season!

The Rock players congratulated each other on an excellent game.

Gillian and Michelle showed their appreciation.

The Rock and Bandits players shook hands.

The Rock players again congratulated each other.

The Rock players thanked their fans.

Here are the top three stars of the game.  Nick Rose, the Rock goalie, was the #1 star.  He got his first goal in his NLL career ... yes, he got a goal as a goalie!

Nick Rose was interviewed after the game.  He autographed a ball and gave it to someone in the crowd.

It was an exciting game and hopefully the first win of many!
