After accepting an undercover assignment at a military base, Lexi and Solomon, her boss, pose as a married couple investigating the murder of a civilian employee. Their goal is to determine whether the man accused of the crime, who isn't talking, is really guilty or if the evidence points to someone else. As she settles into her undercover role, Lexi discovers that the victim's life was more complicated than it first appeared. 

As the investigation unfolds, Lexi follows the evidence through a series of twists and hidden motives before uncovering what really happened and identifying the person responsible for the murder. While working the case, Lexi also continues to sort through her relationship with Adam, a police detective, creating additional challenges as her personal and professional worlds begin to overlap. It doesn't help that she's attracted to Solomon and the feeling is mutual.

This story is written in first person perspective in Lexi's voice. I liked the writing style ... it was amusing at times. It wasn't overly deep and was a fairly quick read. It's the third in the Lexi Graves mystery series (there are currently 19 in the series and I've read the first two) and I liked it enough to keep going with the series. We're left with a cliff hanger at the end and I hate it when authors do this. As a head's up, there is swearing.
