Aurora Borealis, Toronto, ON

My friend, Franca, heads up a large department where she works.  They organized a boat cruise this evening for their department, plus family and friends.  Franca invited Gord and I.

The boat was the Aurora Borealis.

My pal, Liz, and Liz's fiancé, Jamie, also came.

Here are Gord and I.

Here are Liz, Franca and I.  We have been friends for almost twenty years.

The boat was docked at the bottom of Yonge Street.

We cruised across the harbour.

Then we headed into the Toronto Islands.

Supper was served ... chicken, pasta, a couple salads (I passed) and rolls.  It was okay.

There's the Gilbraltar Point Lighthouse ... Gord and I toured it last summer.

In and around the Islands ...

Jamie and Liz were enjoying the ride.

This dark cloud followed us for a while.

Dessert was served ... I had a cookie and a piece of cake.

We headed back into the harbour again.

We headed west past Billy Bishop Airport through the channel.

There were lots of boats out.

This is Toronto from the west end of the harbour.

We left about 5pm and docked at 9pm.

It was a great night to be on the water.  It was sunny, warm and breezy.

How beautiful is the city of Toronto from the water? Gorgeous! Loved the photos. It reminds me of days when a friend of mine had a boat docked at one of the Island marinas and we used to sail in the harbour. I miss it.
