Walking to Harbourfront and back

It was such a nice day today. The gym was closed because it's Victoria Day so Gord and I went for a walk to Harbourfront.

We headed south to Coronation Park, then east. The last time I was in Coronation Park was with KC in April and there were no boats in the water. Lots of 'em today.

We passed by the Island Airport. Sister Sarah is coming to town next weekend and will be landing there so we checked it out.

You have to take a ferry ... apparently it's the world's shortest ferry ride (Guinness Book of Records). It takes just a minute.

We explored a bit. Here's looking towards downtown.

There's the ferry at the airport.

After we came back across, we discovered Ireland Park and the Irish Famine Memorial. Someone had left four potatoes in front of one of the statues.

We kept going to Harbourfront (it was packed ... there was a circus festival) and had a late lunch/early supper at the Watermark Irish Pub (formerly the Boathouse).

Then we walked home.

We were gone five hours. According to WalkJogRun, we walked 9km (6 miles).

That's a nice way to spend the day. We went out for brunch and to High park again...it was the first time out all weekend, Rob's been sick. :(

It is beautiful there! I wish we had water and boats like that around here.

That sounds like quite the hike!

It was such a great day to do it too.

Oh my! I could stay at such a place for hours and not get sick of it, even though the sun may kill me. LOL
