Jack Astor's, Halifax, NS

Sister Sarah and I had lunch at Jack Astor’s on Chain Lake Drive in Halifax.

I had Chicken Parmigiana (breaded chicken, tomato sauce, smoked mozzarella, linguine, creamy cheese sauce), which I always get when I go to a Jack Astor’s. Despite asking for no parmesan cheese (most Jack Astor's put shaved parmesan on the meal and I hate parmesan cheese), it came with powdered parmesan on top. Since it wasn't real parmesan, I was able to brush it off. Other than that, it was good.

Sister Sarah had Asiago Chicken Bowties (Asiago-crusted chicken, bow-tie pasta, creamy cheese sauce, semi-sundried tomatoes) and she added bacon and mushrooms. She said hers was good too.

Kyle was our server … he was friendly and chatty.

Peggy's Cove, NS

After our lunch, Sister Sarah and I walked around Peggy's Cove. The weather changed many times ... sunny, hail, wind and rain.

They recently built an accessible viewing deck.

We headed to the rocks and climbed around toward the lighthouse.

The Sou'Wester Restaurant and Gift Shop, Peggy's Cove, NS

Sister Sarah and I had lunch at the Sou’Wester Restaurant in Peggy’s Cove, NS.

We had a great view from our table.

We both had Nova Scotia Fish & Chips (local haddock hand dipped in a light beer batter and fried golden brown served with fries and coleslaw) which was really good. I’m not a fan of coleslaw so gave mine to Sister Sarah.

Falen was our server … she was friendly and took good care of us.

Redwood Grill, Halifax, NS

Sister Sarah and I had supper at Redwood Grill in Halifax. Though it's a pedestrian restaurant in a hotel, the food was good and the prices were reasonable.

It was wing night … hers were Bourbon BBQ and mine were Buffalo. They were good! We split a plate of fries.

The Floatation Centre, Halifax, NS

Sister Sarah and I did floats this afternoon at The Floatation Centre in Halifax. I’ve done them for a few years (I find them relaxing) and this was her first one.  It was a nice restful spot and the staff was kind and caring.

Zesty Pizza, Halifax, NS

Sister Sarah, Joey and I got medium donairs for supper from Zesty Pizza on Herring Cove Road in Halifax.

I got mine with tomatoes. They were huge (too big to eat without a knife and fork!), messy and delicious!

I have leftovers for breakfast tomorrow.
