From Goodreads ~ Charlotte Windham, a nerdy high school prodigy who tutored classmates to earn money for college, escapes her geeky past to become a celebrated novelist.
During a chance encounter at a Los Angeles restaurant 15 years after high school, she reconnects with her secret crush, Garrett Stephens, the popular star athlete and teen heart breaker. Garrett, still leaving broken hearts in his wake, is now a successful professional golfer who recently suffered a possible career-ending shoulder injury.
As he and Charlotte spend time together, developing a friendship based on mutual respect and comfortable companionship, can Charlotte forgive the past and can Garrett reform his lothario ways for a chance at love?
Charlotte tutored twins Garrett and Marcus, her classmates, when they were in high school. The boys were popular and, though she was in love with Garrett, they barely knew Charlotte existed except to begrudgingly let her help them with their schooling. In fact, Garrett's nickname for her was "Glasses". She was friends with their sister, Lindsay, but over the years lost contact with them.
Fastforward fifteen years and Charlotte is now a success author. She runs into Lindsay and her family and they pick up their friendship again. Garrett is now a professional golfer, used to having his pick of woman. He is attracted to Charlotte and she intrigues him and he is determined to have her. But Charlotte remembers how Garrett had hurt her in high school and is determined not to let that happen again and opts to be friends instead. This proves to be difficult, though, as Charlotte gets to know Garrett as an adult.
This is the fourth book I've read by this author and I liked it. I liked the writing style. It's written in first person perspective, alternating between Charlotte and Garrett's points of view, which lets you see how they are feeling and what they are thinking. Charlotte and Garrett's banter and interaction was amusing. I wasn't crazy about Garrett in the beginning but liked him better as he started maturing and realizing what was important to him. As a head's up, the language and adult activity are for a more mature reader.

Book ~ "Right Click" (2014) Lisa Becker
From LisaWBecker.com ~ Love. Marriage. Infidelity. Parenthood. Crises of identity. Death. Cupcakes. The themes in Right Click, the third and final installment in the Click series, couldn’t be more pressing for this group of friends as they navigate through their 30s.
Another six months have passed since we last eavesdropped on the hilarious, poignant and often times inappropriate email adventures of Renee and friends. As the light-hearted, slice of life story continues to unfold, relationships are tested and some need to be set “right” before everyone can find their “happily ever after.”
Renee and Ethan are engaged and soon to be married. Shelley has moved to Seattle to be with Nick. Ashley has just had a baby and is adjusting to being a stay-at-home mom. Mark is engaged to Cassidy.
What's interesting about this (and the previous ones) is that the entire book is written in email format. So you follow the gist of what is going on between these friends via their emails back and forth to each other. That may sound complicated but it's not hard to follow.
This is the third book I've read by this author and I enjoyed it. I liked the writing style ... most of the time, it was funny and sarcastic. As a head's up, the language at times is for a more mature reader, especially with Shelley's emails.
This is the third in a series ... I've read them all. Even though this is the third in the series, it works as a stand alone.

Book ~ "Double Click" (2013) Lisa Becker

Are Renee and Ethan soul mates? Does Mark ever go on a date? Has Shelley run out of sexual conquests in Los Angeles? Will Ashley's judgmental nature sabotage her budding relationship?
Through a marriage proposal, wedding, new baby and unexpected love twist, Double Click answers these questions and more. Readers will continue to cheer, laugh, cry and cringe following the email exploits of Renee and friends.
Click chronicled Renee and her friend, Mark's quest to find "the one" on online dating sites. When it ended, Renee and Ethan had just met and started dating ... six months later, when this book starts, they are still together, happily in love.
There's something going on with Shelley, though ... she is toned down a lot and isn't her usual frisky self. Ashley has gotten pregnant and quickly gets married. Mark meets Cassidy and she is included in their inner circle despite being a flake.
Like Click, this book is made up entirely of emails between Renee, Ethan, Shelley, Mark, Ashley, Shelley and occasionally Cassidy ("ha-lariously" most of her input is forwarding cat videos and pictures which drives Shelley crazy). It does take a bit to get used to this style but it was an easy read once I got into the rhythm.
Click was fun with the escapades of Renee on her dates with the characters she had met online. Though funny and cute, I found this one was more mature since everyone has settled down somewhat.
I enjoyed this book and would recommend it.

Book ~ "Click: An Online Love Story" (2011) Lisa Becker
From Goodreads ~ Fast approaching her 30th birthday and finding herself not married, not dating, and without even a prospect or a house full of cats, Renee Greene, the heroine of Click: An Online Love Story, reluctantly joins her best guy pal on a journey to find love online in Los Angeles.
The story unfolds through a series of emails between Renee and her best friends (anal-compulsive Mark, the overly-judgmental Ashley and the over-sexed Shelley) as well as the gentlemen suitors she meets online.
From the guy who starts every story with "My buddies and I were out drinking one night," to the egotistical "B" celebrity looking for someone to stroke his ego, Renee endures her share of hilarious and heinous cyber dates. Fraught with bcc:s, FWDs and inadvertent Reply to Alls, readers will root for Renee to "click" with the right man.
Renee is single and will soon be thirty. It's been a year since she and Derrek broke up and she's ready to find "the one". A couple days after New Years, her buddy, Mark, convinces her to join him on an online dating site. She signs up with Choose Jews. The book follows her almost yearlong adventure.
At first she is hesitant about responding to the messages she receives. After a while, she gets into it and meets the men who respond to her profile after the first or second intro message and even proactively sends messages when she sees profiles she likes. And there is quite a list of characters!
The book is made up entirely of emails between Renee, her friends (Mark, Ashley and Shelley) and the men she corresponds with online. It took me a bit to get into the groove of this writing style but once I did, it was an easy fun read (I read it in less than four hours this afternoon). The characters were funny and extreme (Mark was anal, Ashley was a bitch and Shelley was frisky).
I enjoyed this book and would recommend it. I look forward to future books by this author.
Double Click, the sequel, should be out this spring. Yippee!
