Pancho Y Emiliano, Toronto, ON

I had supper this evening on the patio at Pancho Y Emiliano (on Augusta Avenue in Kensington Market) with my friends, Trish and Yvette. We've been friends for 20 years and met in boxing class where Yvette was our instructor

Here we are ...

Trish and Yvette shared an order of Guacamole Vegan (Mashed avocado seasoned and topped with pico de gallo, served with fresh corn chips).

Trish had Enchiladas Vegan (Three corn tortillas filled with sautéed sweet peppers, onion and mushrooms. Topped with a zesty green tomatillo sauce and garnished with sour cream, fresh cheese, and onion. Refried beans and rice on the side.).

Yvette had Camarones en Verde (Sauteed shrimp served with our light and fresh-tasting mole verde sauce, made with a delicious combination of seeds, tomatillo, chiles, and aromatic green herbs. Rice and salad on the side.).

Gord and I spent the afternoon in Kensington Market and then had supper on the patio at Pancho Y Emiliano (on Augusta Avenue).

Sangrias seemed like a fun idea!

Gord had Ceviche (Basa fish fillet cured in citrus juice, mixed with pico de gallo and garnished with avocado served with fresh corn chips) and a Tamal de Puerco en Chiliajo (Corn masa steamed in a banana leaf, filled with tender pork in a savory chiliajo red sauce).

Pancho Y Emiliano, Toronto, ON

I had supper this evening with my pals, Trish and Yvette, at Pancho Y Emiliano in Kensington Market.

Trish and Yvette started with mashed avocado seasoned and topped with pico de gallo and served with fresh corn tortillas.

Trish ordered Tamal Vegan (corn masa steamed in a corn husk, filled with spinach and corn) and Chilaquiles Vegan (bowl of crunchy tortilla chips with sauteed sweet peppers, onion and mushrooms in a zesty green tomatillo sauce, garnished with sour cream, fresh cheese and onion; refried beans on the top).

I ordered a sangria and Choriqueso (melted cheese with chorizo; served with four flour tortillas).

Pancho Y Emiliano, Toronto, ON

Gord and I walked to Kensington Market this afternoon and had supper on the patio of Pancho Y Emiliano in Kensington Market.  Neither of us had been there before.

They did a good job in keeping everyone socially distanced.

It was warm and sunny and a glass of sangria seemed like a good idea (and it was).

We shared Choriqueso (melted cheese with chorizo; served with four flour tortillas). It wasn't what I was expecting and it was really good.  I’d get it again as a meal.

Gord ordered Sopes (three thick handmade corn tortillas topped with refried beans and pulled chicken and garnished with fresh lettuce, sour cream, tasty cheese and pico de gallo). He said they were good and took one home for lunch tomorrow.

I ordered Tacos de Carne Asada (three double corn tortillas filled with lemon and black pepper marinated grilled beefsteak and topped with pico de gallo) … they were good and I took two home for lunch tomorrow.  The steak was surprisingly cold and I'll heat them up tomorrow.

It was a busy spot and our servers were friendly and took good care of us.  We'll be back!
