See what 200 calories looks like

There's an interesting article on wiseGEEK that compares the size of different foods that have 200 calories.

Here are some ...

Apples - 385 grams
Celery - 1425 grams
Baby carrots - 570 grams
Bacon - 34 grams
Snickers bar - 41 grams
Potato chips - 37 grams

Not surprising that you get a lot more of the healthier stuff for 200 calories.

I like that they compared healthy stuff to non-healthy stuff ... on the same plate ... from the same camera angle.

It's crazy. I love the vending machine bags of gardettos. For that little bit, i believe it's 200 calories. Sigh... So if i want ice cream in the evenings, no gardettos. :(

I wish I could commit to a healthier diet, but I do love my bacon, chocolate, and potato chips. Interesting to see how much vegetables you'd have to eat in order to consume 200 calories. Thanks for the post!

And you should totally get a dog. Best decision I've made and the Toronto Humane Society always gets litters of puppies coming in. They don't last long, though!
