"20 Minute Workout"

I had high hopes of going to the gym this evening.

I conducted five enrolment seminars back-to-back in Scarborough today ... so that meant I was standing for about six hours.  By the end of the day, I was exhausted and I skipped the gym.  My gym bag did make it to the car, though, and is still in the trunk ... that's the closest I've been to the gym in a while so that's progress.

I recently came across a mention of the 20 Minute Workout.  I don't know if you remember it or even know what it is but it was an aerobics show that was made for a couple years in the early 1980s here in Toronto.

I did the 20 Minute Workout on a regular basis ... it was on in reruns for years.  Alas, I didn't look as good as Bess and I wore a baggy teeshirt and shorts.

Yes, the camera angles did help show the moves but I suspect they were more for the guys ... lots of butt and boob shots.

It was a good workout but looking back at it now, it seems slightly dangerous and jarring.



It's fun to see the 80s hair and make-up, though :)

What's hilarious is that my hubby pointed out that the character of Ginger - Bess Motta - in Terminator (1984) was the aerobics queen in these videos. Frank noted that many guys watched these videos back then because of the interesting contortions and camera angles... not for the actual workout tips themselves.

That's true, Margaret, she was the roommate in "The Terminator".

The camera angles were hilarious :)
