Though it was gorgeous outside (sunny and 19C) this evening and I was tempted to go for a long walk, I went to the gym.Enis, one of the trainers, told me on Monday evening to do weight training before the running program ... something about a better release of lactic acids. So I did weights first while listening to 70s tunes.
Then I did Week 5 Workout 2 of the Couch to 5K running program (a repeat of Monday night) while watching the season finale of Dragons' Den.
* Brisk five-minute warm-up walk
* Jog 8 minutes
* Walk 5 minutes
* Jog 8 minutes
* Brisk five-minute walk
On Monday night, I could only do 5.5 minutes of the second eight minute jog (I briskly walked the rest). It was tough but tonight I was able to push through it and did it all ... whoohoo!
I wanted to watch the rest of Dragons' Den so then I did 30 minutes on the treadmill in "hills" mode.
Time for a shower!

Teena,
Your Couch to 5K journey is inspiring. Since I was sick, I had to restart the program and am on week 3. Since I won't be able to be ready for the 5K in April and I will be looking for a 5K in May. Will that be doable? Let me know. Monica
Sorry to hear you've been sick, Mon.
Lemme know what you find for May.
One of my volunteer jobs lets me use their gym for free, and it has been wonderful. I've been lifting weights and riding the bike for an hour each time I go there, and been walking 4 to 6 miles a day outside. Sure, a set of grandparents passed me by today while pushing a baby stroller, but at least I am moving! Glad to see someone else out there is going through this rough exercise program, although, yours is way more harder than mine.
