I went to the gym this eveningI did Week 5 Workout 2 of the Couch to 5K running program while watching Judge Judy.
* Brisk five-minute warm-up walk
* Jog 8 minutes
* Walk 5 minutes
* Jog 8 minutes
* Brisk five-minute walk
This was daunting. The first eight minute jog was a struggle but I did it. Yay! Alas, I could only do 5.5 minutes of the second eight minute jog. I walked the rest. I was pleased, though, because five weeks ago I had struggled to run for even a minute.
Then I did weights while listening to 70s tunes. Rock on! Like Saturday, I reversed the order I usually do the exercises.
Then I did 30 minutes on the elliptical ("personal trainer reverse" mode - you alternate going forward and backwards) while watching My Name is Earl.
I finished off with 30 minutes on the stationery bike ("random" mode) while reading Facing Ali: 15 Fighters/15 Stories.
It is amazing that I couldn't push through 2.5 more minutes of a jog but I could go on and work out for almost two hours afterward. What's up with that?!
Time for a shower!

I found a podcast of the couch to 5k. Hopefully i'll try it out today. Have to use the treadmill, joey doesn't want to run with me.
thats a great start to do even 5 min of the second jog. next time push for 30 seconds more and a minute! youll get there!
