For years, we had to wait 'til midnight on Friday and Saturdays to be able to watch music videos on cable shows from Bangor, Maine. And if I remember correctly, CBC had a music video show on at suppertime.Then MuchMusic started in 1984.

I was 22 and living in Antigonish, NS, and to be able to watch videos 24 hours a day was awesome!
There's an interesting article in today's Toronto Star about the downfall of MuchMusic, which celebrates its 25th anniversary on Monday.
Alas, I haven't watched MuchMusic often in many years ... not much of an appeal to me anymore.
I do like MuchMoreRetro, though, which is "dedicated to the music of the 80s and 90s". I'm getting old, I guess. Or I check out YouTube if I get an older video stuck in my head and have to see it RIGHT NOW!
