They lost their first home because someone didn't want them. Now they've lost their "mother" – a devoted animal lover who couldn't say no to a creature in need.
Sonja Currell collapsed in her husband Frank's arms a month ago. Asthmatic and 65, she succumbed to a heart attack, leaving her partner of 46 years and 83 cats who shared their Scarborough home.
Now, as much as it breaks his heart, Frank must find new homes for them. He's in poor health, having lost a lung to cancer and still recovering from radiation treatment.
