Let's see what all the fuss is about
An article in today's Toronto Star caught my eye because I saw "blog" and "Toronto".
Web embraces field guide to white people
Former Torontonian's popular blog pokes fun at yuppie lifestyle
Christian Lander insists he's not a cynic, he's just laughing at himself.
Now that the world is laughing with him on his blog, Stuff White People Like, the 29-year-old former Torontonian could be excused a touch of bitterness. Since he started on Jan. 18, it's racked up over 14 million hits.
"And how much have I made?" he says, on the phone from Los Angeles. "About $13; a buck for every million hits. That's from the few ads the site lets me put up. It's been the craziest two months of my life but I'm glad I'm not in it for the money."
Every day, Lander posts a satirical essay about something he and Miles Valentin – a friend from their Jarvis Collegiate schooldays who lives in Vancouver – think characterizes white people.
Over 14 million hits since January 18?! Whoa!
I'm going to add it to my blogroll to see what all the fuss is about.
