International Year of the Potato

Did you know that 2008 is the International Year of the Potato?

I love potatoes, with red potatoes being my favourite!

Boiled, fried, baked, mashed (Sister Sarah's personal fav!), scallopped, French fries ... I love love love potatoes! So this is good news for me!

Ironically, Gord's not a big fan of potatoes. Whereas I always bought the 10 pound bags of potatoes and it was a staple for me, he would buy one or two single potatoes and they would last him for weeks!

Rice and pasta are delicious but spuds rock!

So celebrate ... go out and have a potato today!

Hey you learn something new everyday. Who'd have thought that the potatoe would be celebrated. That's too bad about the fire. Sad to see a part of history disappear. Have a fun weekend in TO. Hear you guys are in for another snow storm!

Wishing you a great weekend too :-)
