I had another EKG done this morning and it's the same as the one I did last month… still funky.
The cardiologist gave me the results of the echocardiogram from a couple weeks ago and my heart is totally fine.
She said that in 80% of the cases, a funky EKG means there is something seriously wrong … this is why my doctor sent me for the echocardiogram. I'm in the 20% where it doesn't mean there's anything wrong … it's just become my new "normal". So all is well.
The cardiologist gave me a copy of the EKG to carry in my wallet. If I ever land in the hospital and they do an EKG and see it's funky, I’m to pull out the copy from wallet so they'll know that funky is my "normal".
She's recommending that I have an echocardiogram every year as part of my physical.
She said she's not concerned about me at all and that I should keep doing what I've been doing.
